Bencorragh House is a beautiful bed and breakfast located in Upper Gills,Canisbay, just three miles to the west of John O'Groats.

Our three star bed and breakfast is situated within ten acres of working croft where Highland and Jersey cattle, sheep, horses and ducks, Irish Red and Red and White Setters and cats live peacefully together. We enjoy panoramic views of the Island of Stroma, the Pentland Firth and the Orkney Islands and our accommodation is highly convenient for the Gills Bay to St Margaret’s Hope Ferry and the seasonal John O'Groats day trip passenger ferry.
We offer three en-suite rooms
A twin/double (This room has a double bed and single bed and can be used as a small family room),
A double room
A large family room (can sleep up to five people (one double bed and three single beds) a cot is available on request for youngest visitors.
Each room has tea and coffee making facilities and there is full central heating throughout the accommodation.
Two of the rooms offer views across open countryside and the family suite overlooks the Pentland Firth and across to Orkney.
As well as offering luxury accommodation, we have a lovely garden room which also serves as the dining room and second lounge. There is a separate TV lounge and free Wi-Fi in the public areas.
We are a stone’s throw from the Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother's Caithness residence.
This area is a haven for wildlife and nesting birds, such as puffins and many other species, which can be found on the cliffs at Duncansby Head and Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the British mainland is just a short drive away.
